Question and Response Matrix 3

# Question Response 9 Attachment 1, Specification

Work Item 19 Well, your new hose list for item “19” is better, but we still are not able to quote. There are too many variables. We need to know the pressure ratings for each hose, For the steam we need to know pressure and temperature, for all hoses we need to know, Connection type, such as JIC, Pipe, Male Boss ect, and if it is a swivel, 90 degree straight, 45 degree, pressure ratings. If you can provide actual manufacture of the hose this will help also.

Manufacture part numbers would be best. Otherwise we will have to go out and visually look at every hose to determine the connection , and hose. The price can be double to triple the cost depending upon the variables.

Amendment forthcoming to update hose list with additional information.

10 Attachment 1, Specification

Work Item 5 Para 3.4.2.3.1 calls for hydro‐testing 4 cylinders in 1‐N‐0‐K last 4/03, but the cylinder COI records we took in May show none on board with that hydro date. The other 14 with a 10/05 date are 50# CO2 – records show 40 on board (incl spares) with that hydro date. Can USCG provide add’l info?

Amendment forthcoming to update cylinder tables.

11 Specification Work Items 27, 28, 29, 30 Paragraph 3.1.6

Per work item 27, 28, 29, & 30 paragraph 3.1.6., it states that the “contractor shall test any surface that will be disturbed and is suspected to contain lead or asbestos. If asbestos is discovered, the Contractor shall submit results via CFR with an abatement plan.” However, if lead is discovered, contractor shall abate in accordance with Standard Spec 0000. Problem is, the spec only tells you how to abate and does not list potential quantity. Can the lead abatement be changed to a CFR like the asbestos, or can you provide information that makes it possible to price the lead abatement, like quantities?

No, the Coast Guard will not be handling lead abatement via CFR for these work items. Contractors shall incorporate lead abatement into their proposal costs.

12 SF1449 Proposal Submission

Many of our subcontractors are on vacation until after the holidays, can we please receive an extension until 1/18/16.

Thanks.

Amendment forthcoming to revise response deadline to 18JAN16.
