1. General Information Purpose The purpose of this System Operation Verification Test (SOVT) is to verify the operation, configuration, installation and material support for Seawatch installations. The following objectives will be achieved by the completion of this SOVT:
· Verification of the system’s ability to collect, process, and display data
· Verification of proper operation of components of the Seawatch suite after initial installation
Scope This SOVT provides procedures to test hardware and software functionality as part of the Seawatch installation. These procedures are used to ensure compliance to the prescribed standards prior to Government acceptance.
Procedure C3CEN Personnel shall test the Seawatch-378 equipment suite with the observation of ship and contractor representatives. The following codes will be used throughout this verification
Code
Definition
S
Satisfactory. Installation or operation is acceptable.
U
Unsatisfactory. Installation or operation is NOT acceptable
N/A
Not Applicable. Step is unnecessary for satisfactory completion of test
D
Deferred. Unable to complete the specific procedure due to circumstances beyond the Verification Team’s control.
Security The computer system and COE software are not classified. However, once classified data is introduced into the system either manually or automatically, the system becomes classified at the same level as the data introduced. Security of the data is the responsibility of the system operator. Exercise caution during print operations to ensure that classified data, if printed, is labeled with the proper classification and copies are controlled as required by standard security procedures.
Safety
***WARNING***
Equipment identified as part of the Seawatch configuration will contain voltages that are dangerous and may be fatal if contacted by personnel. Some equipment within this configuration has multiple hazardous voltage inputs. Care should be taken to ensure all input voltages have been secured when accessing the equipment for testing or maintenance. Safety precautions and regulations must be observed at all times.
Prerequisites All external systems that will provide inputs to or receive outputs from the Seawatch suite must be powered on and operating properly. See section 2.1 for a list of equipment to be energized. Ensure Seawatch System Manual and all applicable Job Aids are followed while performing verification procedures.
System Operation & Interoperability Testing The following tests will be conducted to verify the proper operation of the Seawatch equipment as a functional system. Prior to these tests, ensure that the associated data paths and interfaces to communications sensors are operating properly and activated. Indicate the proper code after the test is complete.
Sensor Check Verify the following equipment is energized and functioning properly.
