3. Background:

The PRAWS is an integrated network that provides internet protocol and digital switched voice, video teleconferencing and data services. The network is terrestrial and uses a combination of Government provided mi-crowave and commercial Contractor provided leased circuits and fiber optic facilities. DISA has a requirement to ensure continuous services are provided to operate and maintain DISA owned microwave equipment which trans-verse Puerto Rico, St. Croix, St. Thomas and the US Virgin Islands (USVI). Current support includes non-expendable items for the provisioning of new and changed services and lifecycle maintenance for the DISN micro-wave wideband digital transmission within the Caribbean region under USNORTHCOM consisting of Puerto Rico and the USVI.

4. Objectives:

This PWS describes the Government’s requirement for O&M support to include non-expendable items for the provi-sioning of new and changed services, and lifecycle maintenance for the DISN microwave wideband digital transmis-sion / PROMINA network within the Caribbean region under USNORTHCOM consisting of Puerto Rico and the USVI. The DISN PRAWS Network consists of microwave radios, antennas, PROMINA multiplexers, and associat-ed equipment that support DISN Services, which serves the Department of Defense (DoD), Department of Home-land Security (DHS), and other State and Federal Agencies in support of Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence, Homeland Security Missions and U.S. National Security requirements.
