About this file
This is a Local Vendor Preference Certification form issued by the Collier County Procurement Services Division in Florida for use in connection with an Invitation to Bid for Uninterrupted Power Systems Maintenance, Repairs, Replacement & Installation. The form allows vendors to certify their status as local businesses eligible for local preference consideration under Collier County Procurement Ordinance Section Sixteen. Vendors must demonstrate a physical business address within Collier County registered with the Florida Department of State Division of Corporations, verification of contribution to local economic development through measurable means such as employment retention or tax base support, and possession of a current local Business Tax Receipt (Occupational License) issued by the Collier County Tax Collector prior to bid submission. The certification requires a corporate authorized representative to sign and affirm under penalty of perjury that all information provided is accurate.
Vendors who misrepresent their local preference status face suspension of local preference eligibility for up to one year. The County reserves the right to request documentation substantiating the certification information, and failure to provide such documentation will result in the bid being deemed non-responsive. Historically, County departments have spent approximately $150,000 annually for this service, though this figure may not be indicative of future purchasing patterns. The form permits vendors to identify themselves as serving either Collier County or Lee County, with appropriate checkboxes for designation.
