About this file
This file is a Florida Trench Safety Form and Certification Statement required by Pinellas County, Florida for the Solid Waste Administration Building HVAC Renovation project (ITB-C #26-0394-ITB-C). The form establishes compliance with the Florida Trench Safety Act (Section 553.60 et. seq. Florida Statutes) and the Federal excavation safety standards set forth at 29 C.F.R. Section 1926.650 Subpart P. Bidders must acknowledge their understanding of trench safety requirements and disclose the specific excavation and trench safety measures they will employ on the project, including a detailed breakdown of safety measures by description, units of measure (linear feet or square feet), quantity, unit cost, and extended cost. The form requires bidders to certify that they have considered all available geotechnical data from the County and other sources in designing their trench safety systems, and that they accept sole responsibility for the selection of data and the adequacy of the safety system itself. Failure to complete the form may result in the bid being declared non-responsive.
The disclosed trench safety costs are provided solely for procedural compliance with the Act and do not constitute separate line items for payment. Contractors must comply with all applicable trench safety requirements and extend additional funds at no cost to the County if necessary to achieve compliance, except as otherwise provided in the contract documents. The County's acceptance of the bid does not represent an evaluation of cost adequacy or relieve the contractor of its sole responsibility to comply with applicable trench safety standards. Bidders must provide their company name, contact information, Federal Employee ID Number (FEIN), and email address of their account representative on the form.
