The document is dated 03 Oct 2025 and is from the 72 ABW/CEED, with Tepa Companies involved in the project. Lightning Protection Installer and Master Label Certificate Program | UL Solutions

" UL Solutions inspections can result in a Master Label Certificate or a Letter of Findings. The difference between the two depends on the scope of the inspection. An inspection of an entire structure can result in a Master Label Certificate. Whereas, if the scope of the inspection is limited to anything less than the complete lightning protection system, it can be eligible for a Letter of Findings with specifically listed exceptions to the inspection."

Please confirm whether the contractor is to 1.) bring the entire LPS on the roof up to code and provide a UL certification or 2.) provide a letter of finding for just the work required within this scope.

Government Response: The intent is to perform the inspection on the entire LPS system to certify it is installed and functioning per the regulatory requirements. Any non-compliant issues with the existing portions of the LPS would be addressed at the time of certification.
