Industry Questions & Responses – Part V T-6A Texan II Avionics Replacement Program (ARP)
1) The SRD states “The integrated computer system shall be designed in compliance to ARINC 653-2. [OBJECTIVE]” Can the USG clarify the meaning of 653-2? Does this mean the current version of the specification labeled 653P0-2, dated August 7, 2019?
Response: ARINC 653-2 references the current version of ARINC 653 Parts 0-5 individually.
2) The SRD Revision 003 Table 1 – Component Replacement List – pg. 12, lists the Antenna Selector, P/N CSWX9189 to be replaced. The IPC lists P/N 100D0988 as an alternate. Aircraft surveys at Industry Days revealed the installation of P/N 100D0988.
Question: Request the USG identify quantity of aircraft that need UHF Antenna Selector P/N CSWX9189 removed and replaced. Also, please confirm there is no requirement to remove and replace UHF Antenna Selector P/N 100D0988. Is it the Government’s intent for the contractor to replace all antenna selectors with a different selector?
Response: All SRD Table 1 part replacement solutions should consider such things as performance, maintainability, product life cycle, and other SOW/SRD requirements. Per the SRD, “the Avionics Replacement Program shall replace the components in Table 1.” It is unknown how many aircraft currently have each antenna selector because replacements are performed through attrition.”
