REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
PART II
TO SOLICITATION FA7000-17-R-0012
229. Is it expected that one pest control provider will provide all services requested ie. mosquito, wildlife, weed control, and pest control?
ANSWER: That will be determined by the prime contractor as to how they plan to accomplish the requirements. However, weed control is handled by a separate grounds service contract.
230. Does this contract include pest control services for Academy family housing that has been privatized?
ANSWER: No, Hunt Military Communities manages pest control services for the privatized housing sections on base, with the exception of dangerous wildlife such as bears or bobcats, which are handled by Natural Resources.

232. Aquatic Weed Control – How many service applications were pesticide/herbicide applications vs how many service applications were biological (grass carp) were made for 2017?
ANSWER: The majority of treatments are biological, and pesticides are only used if the biological controls are not sufficient.
233. Bird Airstrike Hazard (BASH Program) – How many service calls were made for BASH and what type of service call was it? (For example: pigeons, sparrows, starlings, geese, etc)
ANSWER: The Service Provider (SP) pest control contractor does not perform BASH requirements. The USAFA Airfield handles this though USDA, and Natural Resources handles BASH requirements other than for the airfield.
234. Mosquitoes – What is the total number of mosquito applications (larvaciding) made in 2017? How many of those applications were along the Monument Creek and other smaller tributaries? For those applications made along Monument Creek, what was the total amount of miles treated?
ANSWER: No larvacide applications were conducted in 2017.
235. Mosquitoes – Who is responsible for treating mosquitoes in the water treatment/sewage facilities?
ANSWER: If a large population of mosquitos was discovered at the Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP), Public Health would gather samples and test for West Nile and/or Zika. The SP would then treat the area. However, there is no current requirement for regular monitoring or controls for mosquitos at the WWTP.
