If this cable to be removed please determine the distances between fire staion and costruction area. And also please clarify if existing site infrastructure (manholes, duct line, pvc pipes etc.) to to used or new site infrastructure to be required?
A21: See A20 above.
Q22: Solicitation- Attach 3 - Mock SOS/1.1.4.16 - Please provide existing fire alarm system brand ,OM manuals and fire alarm system site infrastructure layout drawings.
A22: Make reasonable assumptions, based on available data, and explain in the BOD.
Q23: As it is shown on the as-built drawings there are numerous underground pipes related with the pool water supply and circulation systems. Are they going to be removed or abandoned in place? Please clarify.
A23: All pipes shall be removed.
Q24: There is an existing fence between the swimming and wading pools. Will it be kept or removed?
Please clarify.
A24: Existing fence between the swimming and wading pools shall be removed.
Q25: Existing Building No.925 and 926 have a built-up roofing systems on wood roof structure, on the other hand, patio / storage facility has a reinforced concrete slanted roof slab that has trapezoidal sheet metal cladding. According to the Statement of Work, existing roofing systems of Facilities No.925 and 926 will remain but minor repair works will be performed. What will be done with the roof of patio / storage building.
A25: The SOS makes no reference to a patio/storage facility.
Q26: A Geotechnical Report is not available for the MOCK project, but the following parameters are required to perform structural analysis of the superstructure and pile foundation;
Qall= allowable bearing capacity of the soil K=Modules of sub-grade reaction of soil Cu=Untrained shear strength of soil if soil is cohesive Φ=internal friction angle of soil if soil is cohesionless SPT= Standard penetration test values including N30 and N60 values Please provide above listed values.
A26: Offerors shall make reasonable engineering assumptions for this information, as stated in Vol II, ii-2 of the solicitation, and discussed at the site visit.
Q27: What is the recommended foundation depth below natural ground ?
A27: See A26 above.
Q28: Item 1.1.1.5 of the Statement of Work requests for the installation of gypsum board wall panels on the interior surfaces of exterior walls, the building is a wet space, even humidity resistant type gypsum board panels show failures and result in pealing and moulding. Also various detail problems will be created especially at the corners where gypsum board panels and ceramic wall tiles adjoin. Therefore we recommend the installation of ceramic wall tiles on the interior surfaces of exterior walls (up to 2.10
m. above ffl) or maintenance and painting of existing wall surfaces. Same paragraph mentions about the cladding of some of the exterior wall surfaces with cement board panels. The intent of this requirement is not clearly understood, if it is for insulation purposes we recommend the use of rigid board exterior insulation systems. Please clarify.
A28: Offerors shall explain their reasoning in the basis of design (BOD), for design choices and any interpretations of the SOS.
Q29: Item 1.1.1.5 of the Statement of Work requests for the removal of existing fence windows and requires their replacement with aluminium windows at Facility No.925. However the facility is a humid space and natural ventilation is the best solution for such facilities that are used only during warm seasons. As it has been mentioned in paragraph 1.1.4.13 new air conditioning and ventilation systems should be required if fenced openings would be replaced with aluminium windows. According to ASHRAE 62.1 toilet and locker areas require high rates of ventilation which will result in higher ventilation loads for the building, in other words system will mostly be cooling the exhausted air. Also, the existing building is not insulated and providing new insulation is not required in the SOW.
Providing windows will lead to very unnecessarily high cooling loads.Keeping the fences for natural ventilation and cooling (initial condition) is an option to solve the problem or in order to partially decrease the cooling load, envelope insulation should also be considered. Please clarify.
A29: The window installation is a requirement driven by customer complaints. Offerors shall develop their own theories about why such complaints exist, and explain them in the BOD. Bottom Line:
windows are required in the proposal.
Q30: Is it possible to provide some pictures of the swimming pool and related buildings.
A30: See Amendment 0005 to solicitation, Attachment 13 – Pool Photos.
Q31: IAW FA5685 - 18 - R003 Attachment - 3 Para 1 .1 . 4 .3 and 1 .1 . 4 . 4, the existing LV feeder from substation TR3 to the Swimming Pool Area shall be replaced. Since new design demand load of swimming Pool Facilities shall be impased on existing TR3, the following information will be required:
a) As - built drawings of TR3
b) Existing TR3 demand load data or load measurement results
A31: Offerors shall assume that TR3 has sufficient capacity. Offerors are responsible to size and spec TR3 circuit breaker and feeder cable. Assume any details required for the actual installation in the transformer building. As-built drawings will not be provided.
Q32: IAW FA5685 - 18 - R003 Attachment - 3 Para 1 .1 . 4 .10, new structured telecommunication cabling system is required in Swimming POOL Facilities. In this context, the following design criteria are required:
a) Location and MH number of connection point available for OSP cabling,
b) Requirement for copper cabling within the facilities
c) Fiber optic connection cable parameters (eg, SM / MM / No of fiber strands / Type)
d) What is specifically required in outdoor pool areas?
A32: Offerors are responsible for making reasonable engineering assumptions for this.
Q33: The requirements for the design package are quite much and the schedule is extremely tight, especially the 3D renderings are time taking, and they will start after the completion of the whole design. Therefore we would appreciate if the submittal date would be extended 20 days minimum.
A33: Renderings shall provide a conceptual understanding of the offeror’s design solution. In place of renderings, offerors may submit palette boards or digital visuals that show how colors of different materials will coordinate in an architectural sense.
Q34: Kindly request verification if we need to fill up the section of ITEM NO SUPPLIES/ SERVICES IAB MACC Ordering Period, since price is not considered for evaluation.
A34: Offerors are not required to fill in this item.
