STATEMENT OF WORK (SAMPLE)

REPAIR LEAKS, B158, 379, 622

Contract # FA4855-XX-X-XXXX

CZQZ XX-XXXX

1. OBJECTIVE: Repair Leaks, B158, B379, and B622

2. WORK LOCATION: B158, B379, and B622 Cannon, AFB

3. PRINCIPAL FEATURES: The work required is to include but is not limited to the furnishing of materials, equipment, facilities, transportation, labor, and supervision required to accomplish the following:

3.1 B158 Repairing roof damage and refastening lightning protection.

3.1.1 Remove ducting above roof that is over the ceiling patch in the mechanical room.

3.1.1.1 Seal hole in the roof with new section of metal roofing and seal the seams with approved roofing sealant for metal roofs.

3.1.2 Install new cricket behind the HVAC ducting above the B158 gym room roof line and seal all new seams plus all the existing seams above the roof line for this ducting.

3.1.3 Reseal trench drain around the hose tower either with a rubber membrane like the existing material secured properly to the roof or with an approved spray sealant.

3.1.4 Seal all metal ridge caps where the vertical piece of the cap meets the roof line with an approved roofing sealant for metal roofs.

3.1.4.1 Also seal all the lateral seems of the ridge caps which occur approx. every 10- 12 feet with an approved roofing sealant for metal roofs.

3.1.4.1.1 Replace the approx. 5 foot section in the middle of the run that has excessive deteriorated sealant with a longer section that will fit under the upper section and over the lower section. Rivet the cap back together and seal the new seems with an approved roofing sealant for metal roofs to be identified to the Government.

3.1.5 Secure the downspout to the wall on the Southwest corner of the hose tower.

3.1.6 On the Southeast side of the hose tower there are two levels of roofing.

Approximately 20X15 section of lower roof on southeast side of the hose tower (Refer to Drawings) is dented and holds water.

3.1.6.1 Install new ladder for access onto upper level roof from lower level roof.

Government prefers that the ladder be attached to the upper level section and secured to a beam and not attached to the hose tower wall. Ensure the ladder extends past the top of the roof line by 3 feet with the handles for safety.

3.2 B379: Reseal windows and construct new interior roof over bathrooms.

3.2.1 Remove sealant around all window frames and window panes, both interior and exterior.

3.2.1.1 Clean all window frames to bare metal in accordance with (IAW) SABER specifications 09 97 13.00 40. Prime and paint all frames and trim. Color to be

CZQZ XX-XXXX Page 2 of 3 determined by the Government and approved IAW Saber Specification 09 90 00-50.

3.2.1.2 Reseal around all existing window panes with a weather proofing glazing conforming to SABER specifications 08 81 00, 08-51-23-8, and ASTM C

669. Ensure reinstalled and resealed components can withstand a wind loading design pressure of at least 20 pounds per square foot (PSF).

3.2.1.3 Reseal around all window frames utilizing sealant conforming to SABER specification 08 81 00, ASTM C 920, Type S, Grade NS, Class 12.5, Use G and ASTM C 1184, Type S.

3.2.2 Demo ceiling grid and tile in men’s and women’s bathroom.

3.2.3 Frame new wall partition between men’s and women’s room from top of existing wall to roof decking and cover with sheetrock, Provide a level 2 finish.

3.2.3.1 Frame new wood ceiling in women’s bathroom, and cover with sheetrock.

Provide a level 4 finish. Texture to match walls and match existing paint.

3.2.3.2 Install new ceiling grid and ceiling tile in men’s bathroom.

3.2.4 Frame new roof inside building above flat roof of bathroom extension to prevent any damage from water intrusion from windows. New roof shall have a 4/12 pitch with rafters 16” O.C.

3.2.4.1 Roof shall have an approx. 3” overhang over existing wall. Rafters shall terminate to a fascia front. End of roof shall remain open.

3.2.4.2 New roof framing shall be covered with felt underlayment and finished with aluminum corrugated panels. Flashing shall be installed along all edges and around all vents.

3.3 B622: Fix various roof leaks and establish Lightning protection

3.3.1 Demo roofing section “D” (Designated in B622 Roof Designation.PDF) to bottom metal roof decking.

3.3.1.1 Demo and set aside metal fascia and gutter system from roofing section “D”.

Safeguard from damage for reinstall after EPDM roofing installation.

3.3.1.2 Demo flashing along north side of Roof “D” where it attaches to existing wall and South metal building addition. Metal flashing on southern addition between roofs “D” & “E” shall be demolished from under corrugated metal roofing. Corrugated metal roof will remain.

3.3.1.3 Demo flashing around all vents.

3.3.1.4 Install new EPDM roof on Roof “D” IAW SABER Specification 07-53-23-10, NRCA 0405, UFC 3-110-03, and UFC 3-330-02A. EPDM shall terminate under reinstalled Fascia along terminal edges of roof. EPDM shall terminate approximately six inches under corrugated metal roof of southern addition.

EPDM shall terminate approx. six inches above finished surface of roof along vertical wall of northern expansion.

3.3.1.5 Polyisocyanurate insulation shall be built up and sloped to facilitate drainage along newly installed roof.

3.3.1.6 Existing inset scupper drains on roof “D” shall be abandoned and covered prior to insulation installation.

3.3.1.7 Install man-bars and sound baffles in all vents on roof “D” measuring larger than 96 Sq. Inches IAW UFC 4-010-05.

3.3.2 Install new ridge vent end caps on Roof “A”, and seal with weather proofing.

3.3.3 Remove and protect wall scupper on Roof “C”. Cut wall below removed scupper to ensure adequate drainage slope is achieved. Reinstall removed scupper and reseal.

3.3.4 Remove and protect wall scupper on Roof “B”. Cut wall below removed scupper to ensure adequate drainage slope is achieved. Reinstall removed scupper and reseal.

3.3.5 Design, Install, and certify UL listed lightning protection system for all roofs on B622. Lightning protection shall conform to SABER Specification 26-41-01-00- 10 as well as applicable UL, and NFPA, and AFI standards. In areas of controversy, the most stringent standard prevails.

4 PERFORMANCE PERIOD: 90 Calendar days for Construction

NOTE: Prior to NTP recommend: 14 days for Submittal process 42 Calendar Days for Material procurement

5. NON-TYPICAL ISSUES/ITEMS: None

6. RELATED PROJECTS: None

7. SAFETY: All OSHA, AFOSH, EM 385-1-1, and other applicable DOD Standards apply as stated in SABER contract FA4855-XX-X-XXXX.

8. SPECIFICATIONS: All materials and construction criteria used in SABER contract FA4855-XX-X-XXXX, will be strictly adhered to also. Contractor shall provide list of specifications.

9. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Only remove as much roofing as can be recovered by the end of the day.
