Description of Title Block Elements
Designer Identification Element This element contains the logo or name of the agency that designed the sheet. This space could also be expanded by reducing the size of the issue block to accommodate professional seals when required.
Issue Element This element contains a history of revisions, addenda, and/or clarifications to the sheet. The first entry should be placed on the lower left-hand line of the element and subsequent entries should be made above it.
Management/Project Identification Element This element contains information about the designer, reviewer, and submitter. This element can also be used to maintain filing information about the drawing, such as the file name, plot scale, and drawing code.
This element also contains project information. The project name is identified, possibly with the location or phase of the identified project. There is also a description of the content of the sheet (e.g.
Architectural Floor Plan). If more than one type of information is presented on the sheet (i.e. plans, schedules, details), the most important information is identified.
Sheet Identification Element This element contains the sheet identifier. This identifier is composed of the discipline designator, the sheet type designator, and the sheet sequence number. The “number of sheets” listing is optional and can contain either the total number of sheets for the entire project drawing set or the number of sheets for that particular discipline designator.
Approvals Element This element contains authorization information. This is where key personnel will sign off on the design drawings. This element is only found on the Cover Sheet of the project.
