Questions & Answers 8 Feb 2011

QUESTION 1: In regards to the above referenced project we are receiving multiple calls and emails this morning from our electrical suppliers and subcontractors expressing their concern and frustration in obtaining pricing for the vast majority of the site lighting and associating materials/equipment. Apparently the difficulty lies in obtaining materials per the "Buy American Act" that is binding to this Sol. We are requesting a short extension for the submission of the proposals and also advisement as to how to proceed if American equipment and material can not be obtained. Even if the "Buy American" requirement is waived or relaxed it will take some time for the suppliers to shift gears and obtain alternative material and subsequent pricing.

RESPONSE: Reference Section I, Contract Clause 52.225-9, entitled, “Buy American Act-Construction Materials,” and Contract Clause 52.225-10, entitled, “Notice of Buy American Act Requirement-Construction Materials” (incorporated by Amendment 0001, dated 25 Jan 2011). Note: The referenced clauses are included in full text. Solicitation is not extended.

QUESTION 2: Section L&M does it need to be pull from the solicitation and sent to 4th Contracting Squadron/LGCA/ B Team. Do I need to send the full solicitation to you and send them a copy.

RESPONSE: See Amendment 0001 dated 25 Jan 2011.
