About this file

This is a Vendor Questions and Answers document addressing clarifications on solicitation FA466126Q0111 for 10 Pad Mounted KVA ABB Transformers issued by the 7th Contracting Squadron, Department of the Air Force Global Strike Command. The document clarifies four key vendor inquiries: (1) alternate transformer brands meeting ABB technical specifications are not acceptable due to the sole brand nature of the solicitation; (2) no extension to the quote submission deadline can be granted due to end-of-fiscal-year time constraints; (3) the correct single-phase low voltage specification is 240/120V (not 208/120V as listed in the quotation template, with 208/120V being three-phase specific); and (4) both the 150 kVA and 300 kVA transformers require bayonet fusing, one for each phase.

This document serves as an amendment to the original solicitation, providing essential technical and procedural clarifications to prospective vendors preparing quotes. The responses establish that ABB brand is mandatory with no substitutions permitted, reinforce the fiscal year deadline constraint, correct voltage specifications critical to compliance, and specify fusing requirements for designated transformer sizes. Vendors must incorporate these clarifications into their technical specifications and quotations to ensure eligibility for award under this Firm-Fixed Price contract vehicle.

Vendor Questions

1. Could an alternate brand that meets the technical specifications of ABB transformers be accepted?

a. Due to the sole brand nature of this solicitation, ABB transformers are the only acceptable brand.

2. Can there be a two-week extension placed for quote submission?

a. Due to the end of the fiscal yeartime constraints, no extension can be granted at this moment.

3. The salient characteristics attachment lists the single phase low voltage side as 240/120V while the quotation template lists it at 208/120V. I believe this mistake is only in the template since 240/120V is the appropriate single phase voltage with 208/120V being three phase specific. Just need clarification

a. Yes, the correct voltage needed is 240/120V for 1ph.

4. Do the 150 kVA and the 300 kVA Transformers require fusing?

a. Both units require bayonet fusing, one for each phase.
