About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers file for Solicitation FA461326R0003, which addresses a Building 65 renovation project at F.E. Warren Air Force Base focused on renovating the Telephone Office Area.
The Q&A clarifications address specific construction requirements including: provision of a 2' x 2' metal access panel in Room 5B for plumbing access; removal of conductors back to the nearest junction box for 15 electrical box patches; stripping, priming, and painting the existing steel stairway handrail; replacement of two doors (both approximately 3'-0" x 7'-0") with no fire rating requirements and no electronic hardware needed; replacement of the suspended ceiling system and lights in only two specified rooms with grid modifications in remaining areas; replacement of the ceiling grille in the toilet room with cleaning of other HVAC registers; and lead abatement on disturbed surfaces on the stairs included in the proposal price. The government extended the period of performance to 200 calendar days to accommodate long lead times for doors and frames (8-10 weeks delivery), with potential for additional excusable delay extensions for manufacturing delays. F.E. Warren Installation Facility Standards are provided in Attachment 12. The contractor is responsible for safety measures including temporary 6' high chain link fencing around the construction area (with exact location to be coordinated with government), warning tape around the construction area, covering buggies while moving through the communication area, and proper mitigation for hazardous materials. Government will provide escorts during work performance under stated duty hours in the Statement of Work, and access must be maintained to stairs into the 20th Air Force and into the Telephone Office area.
