Please refer to UFC 4-010-01 secon 3-11.1 Glazing. Provide windows in compliance with 2.1.1 and 3.4 in secon 08 41 13.

- The solicitaon for this project says that bid bonds or "bid guarantees" for this project are required. It does not state the amount the bid bond is supposed to be. Please advise on the amount of the bid bond.

20%.

- We would like to request informaon on Secon B - Supplies or Services & Prices on Costs Opon Line Item 0002 Enre work complete for removal and disposal of addional asbestos not included in the basic amount. Page 4 of 59 of the solicitaon. We do not have the full idenfied quanty of Asbestos removal and therefore cannot provide a lump sum as proposed in the line item. We would request a quanty so we are able to provide a lump sum or could this item quanty be changed to a sq cost and any calculaon of quanty could be firmly established.

The base bid quanty covers all aspects of removals within the hazardous materials report.

Refer to materials report for asbestos to be abated in base bid. The 500 S.F, in the line item 0002, is to cover 500 sq addional unforeseen asbestos.

- There is only one small asphalt patch on this project. It is approximately one truck load of hot mix. The specificaons are for a full-blown paving project. Can an exisng NDDOT/City of Minot mix design be used such as a NDDOT FAA 43 mix that the city of Minot uses on a daily basis?

- This project is calling for a new asphalt design mix to be developed for a small patch. The mix design itself would cost almost the same amount of the actual paving on this project. Can PG 58- 28 asphalt cement be used instead of PG 58-34? We use PG 58-28 asphalt cement on a daily basis in our Minot asphalt plant, it would be very expensive to buy a tanker load of the other asphalt for such a small patch.

- The tack coat spec is calling for SS-1h emulsion, can CSS-1H be used instead? We use CSS-1H on a daily basis for all NDDOT and City of Minot work. Once again, it would be very cost beneficial to not have to order a tanker of different tack for one small patch.

- Does the jobsite require Temporary fencing around the enre perimeter?

Yes, Refer to spec section 01 50 00.

- If so, is there a specificaon on what type of fence is necessary?

Chain link fencing. Refer to spec section 01 50 00 2.3.1. Polyethylene Mesh Safety Fencing was replaced with Chain link Fencing. This was amended in plans and specificaons amendment.

- Does this job require a building permit?

Not a building permit, but the job does require clearance work request form 103. Refer to section 01 11 00 1.7 Permits.

- In specificaon Secon 09 67 23.13 ( Standard Resinous Flooring ) Sub secon3.2.2 , they are basically calling for a troweled on floor finish with an integral 6” cove base as listed in Sub secon 3.2.4, also troweled on. The Room Finish Schedule states that 4” Cove Base is to be applied. The coang they have specified consists of a 5 coat finish system to be applied in the mechanical rooms, the janitor rooms, and the communicaons room. On the room finish schedule Sheet A-601, it is calling for CB-3. I am assuming that this coang system is what is listed as RF-1.

Plans and specificaons amendment gives clarificaon on RFI.

- Under Secon 09 06 00 Schedules For Finishes Sub secon 2.3.1.5 , RF-1 is listed as a Resinous Flooring 3-Coat System and under Sub secon 2.3.2.2 Integral Cove Base it calls out for CB-2 instead of CB-3 as shown on the Room Finish Schedule.

- In specificaon Secon 09 67 23.15 (Fuel Resisve Resinous Flooring, 3-Coat System) which I am assuming to be the ERF-1 it is calling for an epoxy primer with 2 coats of a urethane top coat with an aluminum oxide non-skid addive. ERF-1 is called out to be applied to the toilet areas with CB-2 as the cove base on the Room Finish Schedule. A thin mil coang is not really conducive for an integral cove base as the material is not a trowel applied coang system.

Nowhere in the specificaons for this secon does it call out for integral cove base. Only on the Room Finish Schedule and Secon 09 06 00 does it call for an Integral Cove Base and on Schedule For Finishes it calls out CB-1 not CB-2. Also on the Schedule For Finishes, it calls for ERF-1 to be made of color flakes by Stonetec which is not a 3 – coat thin mil floor system. Is a Fuel Resisve Coang actually needed in the toilet rooms?

- I would like a clarificaon as to what kind of flooring system is to be installed in the locaons designated. Are the products to be used open for discussion to provide a system for all areas designated that would give the desired results with a more uniform applicaon?

Yes, the products to be used are open for discussion during the submittal process after contract award. Proposals for the construction contract must be bid per the plans and specifications.
