About this file

This is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) log for federal contract FA449726Q0031 addressing consolidated vendor inquiries regarding water conditioning systems and related equipment.

The document clarifies key specifications and Government intentions regarding existing water treatment infrastructure. The current water conditioner operates at 1,000 gallons per week during winter months and less than half that volume in summer, treating air handlers and crack units. The Government does not plan to install an additional water conditioner or replace the existing unit with larger-capacity equipment, though the contract may be modified if needed. Regarding four water conditioners identified in the buildings during site visits, only two were demonstrated to vendors; the Government confirmed that two units are no longer in use and should not be removed, replaced, or left in place. The Government will not pursue replacement recommendations based on building current water demand. Additionally, the Government identified a CALMAC-brand glycol ice bank system (model number not provided) requiring maintenance or support services. The Government committed to updating the Performance Work Statement (PWS) to reflect the accurate total of water conditioners and to issue an updated building list that includes new systems identified at Building 206 during the site walkthrough.
