SCOPE OF WORK

Repair Electrical Service in building # 6039

A. STATEMENT OF WORK: The contractor shall provide all labor, materials and equipment necessary to complete the following requirements in accordance with all commercial installation, local, state, and Federal codes and laws. The contractor shall perform a site survey prior to submitting their proposal.

1. Contractor shall coordinate with JCP&L to turn off power before replacing the switchboard and cutting the existing transformer concrete pads.

2. Contractor shall furnish and install current transformers and metering socket. The metering equipment shall meet JCP&L requirements. Coordinate with JCP&L for metering equipment locations.

3. Contractor may be installed weather proof metering enclosure and disconnect switch in accordance with Power Company metering department.

4. Contractor shall be responsible to pay all JCP&L fees.

5. The switchboard shown on drawing is for bidding purpose only. Contractor shall verify and responsible to transfer all live circuits from main distribution panel (MDP) to new switchboard. Contractor shall verify all the circuit breakers needed before ordering the switchboard. Provide junction boxes and extend conduits and wires if necessary.

6. Provide Surge protection Device (SPD) Eaton Bussmann Cat # BSPA- FLUSHPLT with conduits and wires (four wires Wye plus Ground. 5 connection points).

7. Provide 4" concrete pad for all switch board.

8. Contractor shall notify Post office building manager a minimum of 72 hours to shutting down the building electric.

9. Reconnect existing panel “E” in the new panel “B”. See panel schedule B.

Provide conduits and wires as required.

10. The panel schedules shown on drawings are for bidding purpose only. Contractor shall verify and responsible to transfer all live circuits from existing 6 panels (P3, P4, P5, P6, P7, and P8) to new 4 panels (C, D, F, G and I). Contractor shall verify all the circuit breakers needed before ordering the electrical panels. Provide junction boxes and extend conduits and wires if necessary.

11. Main breaker is to be factory installed for all new switchboard and panel (bus bar shall be copper). All wires shall be in conduits.

12. Provide 150A, 3 pole circuit breaker in each panel C & D for panel F & G. Panels F, G and I shall be 150A, 3 phase, and 42 circuits.

13. Contractor shall transfer all existing circuits from existing panels P1 & P2 to new panel H. Panel H shall be retrofitted (recessed) 600A, 3 phase panel (panel P1 replacement). Main circuit breaker factory install. Contractor shall verify all the circuit breakers needed before ordering the electrical panel. Provide junction boxes and extend conduits and wires if necessary.

14. In the equipment room, contractor shall provide 5 each 20A, 125V quadruplex receptacles. Each receptacle shall be in dedicated 20A circuit. Coordinate with using agency for exact location. See panel “B” schedule.

15. In the reception area, contractor shall provide 5 each 20A, 125V quadruplex receptacles. Each receptacle shall be in dedicated 20A circuit. Coordinate with using agency for exact location. See panel “B” schedule.

16. In order to access to the conduits, wires, and junction boxes above the ceiling at panels P1 through P8, contractor shall remove the existing plaster ceiling for electrical work and finish by installing ceiling grids and 2’x2’ ceiling panels, approximately 140 SF.

17. Provide two additional ground rods, (one for the existing transformer and one for the new switchboard). Connect 2/0 copper bare wires from main switchboard to metal building structure.

18. Contractor shall reconnect all outdoor condensing units to new switchboard.

Extend conduits and wires as required.

19. Contractor shall remove all unused conduits and wires.

20. Contractor shall provide 50A, 250v, single phase receptacle for the new Kiln unit in the kitchen and remove existing safety disconnect switch including two receptacles. Contractor shall verify and replace 3 pole circuit breaker to 2 pole 50A breaker and reuse existing conduits and wires if they are meet NEC requirement. Otherwise, wires shall be installed in accordance with NEC requirements.

21. The Contractor shall submit:

a. Installer’s Qualifications.

b. Product Data: Provide manufacturer’s product data for each material and technical literature for approval.

c. Closeout Submittals: Manufacturer’s Warranty.

B. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

22. Contractor shall check and verify all conditions and dimensions at the jobs site before proceeding with the work. The contractor shall report all discrepancies to the Q.A.R prior to beginning any work.

23. All work performed under this contract shall be in accordance with the latest edition of NFPA, NEC, NESC, and all applicable state and local codes.

24. All penetrations throughout fire rated spaces shall be fire stopped. Fire stopping material shall be U.L. listed for require fire rating.

25. Contractor shall notify the Q.A.R. or project manager a minimum of 72 hours to shutting down the building electric.

26. Fire Prevention: The contractors operations shall comply with all requirements of the installation fire prevention standards, Army Regulations, most current issue of the National Fire Codes, and the Fire Chief. All open flame/hot work or disconnection of fire protection alarms or suppression systems requires prior approval of the Fort Dix Fire Prevention Bureau at (609) 562-5484/6430/3351.

27. The Contractor shall coordinate with the QAR before starting work each day to ensure there are no conflicts of operation.
