About this file

This file is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) document addressing contractor inquiries regarding maintenance and support services for an ATIZ Mark 2 scanner.

The Government has specified equipment details for the ATIZ Mark 2 scanner, including Serial Number K86ZL4, with required software versions BookDrive Capture 10.0.6.0 and BookDrive Editor Pro 10.0.8.0. Maintenance and technical support may be performed remotely unless an onsite software or hardware repair is necessary, eliminating the requirement for scheduled preventive maintenance visits. The annual firm-fixed-price maintenance contract must include all replacement parts required during the period of performance; however, the Government acknowledges that major replacement parts may be handled separately if needed, though it seeks clarification on the definition of "major." Parts previously covered under the prior contract, specifically the Auto Capture Switch and Canon DC Coupler DR-E6 dummy battery, were noted as examples of items not considered major replacement parts. Required service timeframes have been established at response within two business days following a scanner hardware or software service request and repair completion within five to seven business days.

1. Equipment information: Can the Government provide the ATIZ Mark 2 serial number and current software/version or licensing information?

Answer: Serial Number: K86ZL4. Software: BookDrive Capture 10.0.6.0; BookDrive Editor Pro

10.0.8.0 (both required)

2. Onsite service: Does the Government require any scheduled onsite preventive-maintenance visits, or may maintenance and technical support be performed remotely unless an onsite repair is necessary?

Answer: Support can be provided remotely unless an onsite software or hardware repair is necessary.

3. Parts: *The annual firm-fixed-price maintenance must include all replacement parts that may be required during the period of performance.

Answer: Major replacement parts may be handled separately if needed. How is “major” defined?

The Auto Capture Switch and Canon DC Coupler DR-E6 dummy battery were covered under the previous contract. I would not consider them major replacement parts.

4. Service response: Is there a required response or repair timeframe following a scanner hardware or software service request?

Answer: Response within 2 business days. Repair within 5-7 business days.
