All walls within the work site are expected to receive the cove base unless noted or specified otherwise 7/16/2026
7/7/2026 68
Existing Quarry Tile as Substrate Due to the anticipated finished floor height reduction of approximately one-half inch (1/2") resulting from the transition from quarry tile to epoxy flooring, would Goodfellow AFB consider allowing the contractor to leave the existing quarry tile in place, apply a self-leveling compound over the quarry tile, and then install the new epoxy flooring system directly over the self-leveler? This approach would mitigate equipment transition/height differential concerns and may offer schedule and cost efficiencies.
This approach will not be allowed at this time. This approach fails to address the failing existing tile, grout, and substrate. It also does not address water penetration, drain replacement, and doesn't account for the increase in thickness that will still affect all the existing kitchen equipment that will then be raised.
7/16/2026
7/7/2026 69
Generator / Temporary Power Given that certain kitchen equipment must remain energized throughout the construction period, will Goodfellow AFB supply a generator or provide temporary power to support this requirement? Or does the responsibility for sourcing and providing temporary power fall entirely on the contractor?
Please clarify premise. During construction there will be no existing energized equipment in the Contractor's way that will require temporary generator or power. All kitchen equipment will be removed by the KTR and the KTR will have a completely empty space to work. Should any equipment need to remain in place and energized, the govt will coordinate and make arrangements for those items to remain active.
7/16/2026
7/7/2026 70
After-Hours Work Access Since the dining facility will remain operationally active during the construction period, would Goodfellow AFB permit or prefer contractor crews to work after normal operating hours, rather than during daytime hours, in order to minimize disruption to daily cafeteria operations?
KTR may be permitted, but not required, to work outside normal hours. Please refer to PPI019, 020, and 021. 7/16/2026
7/7/2026 71
I did not see any information regarding a temporary kitchen facility in the bid documents.
