SITE VISIT VENDOR Q&A

1. Please verify all Instructor’s desks to be laminate in lieu of wood.

Instructor desks will be High Pressure Laminate in lieu of wood.

2. Please verify all bidders to use High Pressure Laminates (HPL) for all laminate requirements.

All laminate requirements will be HPL except the podium/lecturn.

3. Please verify in lieu of the plastic folding tables listed in CLIN 2, all bidders are to include fixed top training tables, HPL laminate surfaces, metal legs, - black paint, non-mobile, sized 18”x60”, excluding modesty panels. *If you plan to move them around or “nest” I would suggest requiring the flip top mechanism and casters.

For student tables, all bidders shall include HPL laminate surface tables with metal legs, black paint, sized 18”x60” including flip top mechanisms and locking casters for nesting purposes.

4. Please verify upon removal of the existing furniture, ownership shall transfer to the

Contractor and they shall dispose of furniture off site.

5. Please verify furniture deliveries can be made to the jobsite and adequate lay down space will be provided by the Government.

Adequate laydown/staging space for this requirement will be provided by the government. All final plans for storage of deliveries and staging will be solidified during the kickoff meeting.

6. Please verify all panel heights shall be 42” or “3-High” in lieu of 36”.

Panel height has been changed to 42” from 36”.

7. Please verify all bidders are to provide a licensed electrician to disconnect the existing power & power poles and perform new power connections via bidder’s provided power poles. All power shall be provided either overhead in the ceiling at existing junction boxes or along the wall as noted in the RFP.

8. Please verify all bidders are to provide a CAT 6 network connection via existing cabling to each required workstation. Data contractors to pull existing cables from source through the workstations wireway, install data/comm faceplates below the surface, and connect heads to faceplate. The Government shall make final connections to all equipment.

9. There is a requirement for each power pole to support 4 electrical outlets/4 network plugs or plug capabilities. Since the existing power poles are to be removed, would the Government please confirm that the power pole requirement per outlet(s) is to be based on the manufacturers standards for power. *It is typical for (1) power pole to serve 6-8 stations with 4 outlets each.

11. Is a .dwg file available for the Government to provide to all bidders?

The government is unable to provide a .dwg file for this requirement.

12. Will you provide updated list for removal or are we going by list provided previously.

The existing list of items are the items that are required by the contractor to move

13. There were three phases noted on SOW. Yesterday there were phases per these phases, ie 8 offices at a time. Can you provide a list of how many offices / classrooms that can be done at a time. Some sort of schedule?

The schedule will be dictated by the possibility of installation being accomplished over Goodfellow Air Force Base’s Christmas exodus, which runs approximately Dec 20 thru Jan 4th, during which contractors would have unabated access to all instructor offices and classrooms. If Installation does not happen over the Christmas exodus an install plan will be formulated during award kick off based on 8 classrooms and 1 instructor office being down at a time.

14. What is revised specification for the classroom table.

For student tables, all bidders shall include HPL laminate surface tables with metal legs, black paint, non-mobile, sized 18”x60” including flip top mechanisms and casters for nesting purposes.

15. Please confirm that the data we are responsible for is existing. How will the data in 81/83 be handled?

The contractor shall only be responsible for existing network cabling. Long patch cables may be run from the existing network drops in 81/83. The in-place wiring in rooms 81/83 cannot be rerouted in that room.

16. Please confirm specification for classroom chairs – vinyl verses fabric

Classroom chairs will be vinyl upholstered

17. Please give standard size for office desk, Would you want to do L shape for all rooms except 81/83 and in that room do single work space?

L shaped cubicles are not a requirement. The contractor shall quote workstations with salient characteristics identified in the SOW.

18. Please confirm space will be free and clear of all personal things and computers before our arrival

Government will ensure computers and personal items are clear of work area prior to contractor beginning work.

19. Please confirm hours for installation are 6AM-3PM

The standard hours are 6 a.m. – 3 p.m., but hours for installation may have the ability to be adjusted slightly to facilitate a smoother installation plan and will be confirmed at kickoff meeting with successful awardee.

20. The podium spec asks for a hinged TOP storage compartment. Does the storage have to be in the top or just have storage in it? The podium requires storage which may be hinged or a compartment underneath

21. The statement of work and CLIN’s 3 & 4 call for 25 classrooms to have furniture removed and installed (desk & podiums) but the drawings only highlights 22 classrooms in blue. Please confirm whether the count is 22 or where the missing 3 classrooms are. Highlighted rooms #: 82, 85, 86, 88, 89, 90, 91, 92, 93, 134A, 134B, 136A, 141, 142, 191, 195, 196, 199, 200, 213, 214, 215.

The floor plan titled Attachment 3 – Building Layout included with the original combo has been amended to show the correct rooms. The requirement is for 25 classrooms between bldgs. 3453 and 3454.
