About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) document for a Commercial Wireless Internet Services contract at Keesler Air Force Base, solicitation number FA301025Q0010. The document is an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract for wireless internet services, with a seed project location of approximately 140,000 square feet spanning two floors. Key technical requirements include mandatory wireless coverage across all sites, seamless roaming, dual-band wireless capabilities, and no user latency. The vendor must provide all connectivity equipment, utilize existing OM3 fiber, install Cat 6 cabling, and design the system with 10% growth scalability.
The solicitation specifies that the wireless system will cover interior spaces with block/brick/stucco exterior and drywall/block/metal stud interior walls, with 10-12 foot ceilings. Specific exclusions include parking garages, elevator shafts, and stairwells. The existing environment has some AFNET wireless in some locations, but a comprehensive new solution is required. The vendor has flexibility in designing the wireless network topology, with decisions about redundancy, wireless LAN controllers, and specific technical details left to the vendor's solution. The contract anticipates awarding in August 2025, with the exact service address to be provided at the time of award.

12 20 Aug 25 Are any location(s) outdoors? This is an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract. Not all locations/facilities are identified at this time.
13 20 Aug 25 Is any location(s) a warehouse, or industrial space (office space is assumed default)?
This is an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract. Not all locations/facilities are identified at this time.
14 20 Aug 25 Is wireless service mandatory across all site/location(s)?
Yes, this requirement is specifically for commercial wireless internet services.
15 20 Aug 25 Are areas such as parking garages, elevator shafts and stairwells excluded from planned coverage?
Yes, these would be excluded.
16 20 Aug 25 Please note the presence and location of heavy equipment which may affect the RF domain (e.g. heavy 3 phase electric motors, Microwave ovens, CB/radio transmissions which operate directly within or adjacent the 2.4 and 5 GHz. spectrum).
This is unknown.
17 20 Aug 25 Total # endpoint wired and wireless devices at each site (if possible)? (e.g. PC’s, laptops, tablets, phones, printers)
This will vary according to each site.
18 20 Aug 25 Are current/future wireless endpoint clients dual band capable (2.4 and 5 GHz.), or single band (default is dual band)?
Dual Band where possible, single band where necessary.
19 20 Aug 25 Is seamless roaming required across all site/location(s)?
Yes, seamless roaming is required.
20 20 Aug 25 Is there any expectation for a given throughput level per wireless client type (e.g. phones must pass at least 11 Mbps.
across the campus)
The expectation is for no latency for users.
21 20 Aug 25 Is priority to be given to a specific set of users, groups, or devices?
No priority users are presently planned.
22 20 Aug 25 Will wayfinding (interactive) be required (e.g. location analytics based on BlueTooth Low Energy)?
