6. What does design services entail?

A:design a new system a complete radio fire alarm equipment, including fully redundant primary receiving stations and secondary receiving station with three client workstations:

• New central receiving station in building 1721(primary) and Building 1851 (secondary) consisting of radiofrequency modem with an antenna, a computer with keyboard and mouse, power supply and printer.

• . Install Client Alarm and Dispatch Communicator at three client workstation locations, buildings 1118, 1305 and 1725.

Please refer to SOW Section 1.1 Description of work for more information.

A: Yes

9. Is it only to assure that what’s installed is per code?

A: A commission agent will be required to review all design, installation and start up of the system

10. Is CAD work required by designers?

A: Yes

11. Is a FPE (fire protection engineer) required for design/ testing?

A: Yes

As-Built Drawings

12. Do you have drawings for each building with the conduit routes and placement of the antenna notated?

A: No, the government might own some of the as-built structures. However, during the design phase, the contractor will be responsible for determining the conduit routes and antenna placement.

Fire Watch

13. Is fire watch required? If so, where and when?

A: A fire watch will be required anytime the fire alarm system is disconnected. Time and location will be decided during the design/construction phase.

A: The warranty shall be very specific to what equipment are warranted if order to minimize the risk of overlapping projects (if any).

Submittal Procedures Section 2.13.2 requires a submittal register for every task order.

For most of the project, it will be the same equipment being installed.

17. Would an entire submittal register be more appropriate, with all materials to be used, to be approved prior to installation?

A: Entire submittal register will be acceptable, but it shall be updated regularly with every new task order awarded.

18: In the event of a new part needed as new TO’s awarded, we update the submittal register.

Will the government be providing the submittal registry?

A: No, Contractor will be updating the submittal register in every TO Awarded.
