About this file
This document is a technical specification section (Section 013300) governing submittal requirements for a construction subcontract with Fermi Forward Discovery Group, LLC (FFDG), effective January 2025.
The specification establishes comprehensive procedures for submitting shop drawings, material samples, and operations/maintenance manuals. Subcontractors must submit all materials and assemblies normally required in the construction industry using the "Submittal for Review Transmittal" form provided in Attachment A. Shop drawings and schedules must be submitted with a signed stamp indicating the subcontractor has verified compliance with subcontract requirements, dimensional accuracy, and coordination with other trades. Complete assemblies, structures, or systems cannot be submitted until all component drawings are finished to allow for relational checking. The subcontractor must provide six copies of all operation and maintenance manuals or electronic PDF versions prior to final project acceptance. As-built drawings must be maintained daily on-site in red markup, made available to FFDG upon 24-hour notice, and submitted upon project completion with subcontractor certification. FFDG will distribute five sets of conformed drawings and technical specifications after subcontract award and three copies of any revised documents issued under changes; additional copies are the subcontractor's responsibility.
FFDG will return one copy of all shop drawings within ten working days with one of five possible actions: "No Exception Taken" (NET) permitting procurement and installation; "Revise & Resubmit – Fabrication May Proceed" (R/R) allowing fabrication but not installation pending approval; "Make Corrections & Proceed" (MCP) permitting full fabrication and installation with noted revisions; "Rejected" (R) prohibiting any work until resubmission and approval; or "For Information Only" (FIO) acknowledging receipt of test results, calculations, and reports. Material substitutions must follow the same submittal procedure with detailed comparisons to specified products, explanations of differences, and identification of any required drawing or specification changes. Any alterations or engineering changes necessary for proper installation of substitute products must be accomplished at no cost to FFDG.
