About this file
This document is an exhibit containing technical diagrams for upright headstone realignment procedures in burial sections.
Figure 2 presents a plan view showing the realignment methodology for a burial section. The diagram illustrates the use of keystones as reference points, with an initial keystone establishing the baseline alignment grid. String lines are used to align both transverse and row directions, with equal spacing (EQ.) maintained between headstones. The diagram indicates that subsequent keystones are set onto the realignment grid after the initial keystone is established. Intermediate headstones are positioned after keystones are set, with rows maintained parallel to each other and columns aligned parallel to their respective reference lines. In sloping terrain, additional keystones may be required to provide smooth transitions.
Figure 3 provides elevation views depicting typical vertical alignment in both flat and sloped sections. The flat section diagram shows headstone positioning relative to existing undisturbed top soil surface and mean or average top soil surface reference lines, with realigned headstones positioned on a solid line and original headstone locations indicated by dashed lines. The sloped section diagram demonstrates projected vertical alignment relative to average top soil level using an imaginary string line, with similar notation for realigned versus original headstone positions. Both elevation views illustrate the vertical positioning methodology necessary to maintain proper alignment across varying terrain conditions while preserving the integrity of burial sections.
