About this file
This is an exhibit from a Draft Request for Proposals (DRFP) that specifies the Mission Trajectory Data Package requirements for the Mars Transport Network (MTN) proposal submission to NASA Goddard Space Flight Center under DRFP No. 80GSFC26R0011.
The document outlines two primary categories of required data submission. The Trajectory Information section requires proposers to provide launch vehicle specifications, launch date, C3 energy, and departure launch azimuth; final Mars orbit characteristics; binary SPICE SPK files or equivalents covering the beginning, middle, and end of the launch window; solar conjunction and eclipse duration data; assumptions regarding finite versus impulsive maneuvers and aerobraking; and a comprehensive delta-V budget. The Spacecraft Data section mandates submission of wet mass and propellant mass specifications; chemical and/or electric engine details including types, quantities, duty cycles, propellants, specific impulse (Isp), thrust and power characteristics with supporting equations, and mass flow rate calculations; thrust vectors for each planned maneuver; tank capacities with propellant margin amounts; power capability at 1 AU with power margin specifications; Technology Readiness Levels and throughput capabilities for engines, solar arrays, and power processing electronics; and the momentum control methodology to be employed during both quiescent cruise phases and active maneuvers.
