About this file
This document contains Questions and Answers related to Texas A&M University-Texarkana's RFP (TAMUT-RFP-0898_122024) for Eagle Landing Phase II Student Housing Construction or Modular Units. The project requires the construction or provision of at least 10 residential units capable of accommodating 2-4 students per bedroom, with layout options varying between 2-bedroom and 4-bedroom configurations. The RFP was issued on December 6, 2024, with responses due by January 17, 2025, at 4:00 PM CST. The contract term is for one year with four renewal options, and the project must be completed as a turn-key solution including all site engineering, pad preparation, utility design and installation. Phase I was awarded to Quality Container Builders, and there is potential for the partnership to extend to Phase III.
The university is seeking an outright purchase rather than a lease arrangement. TAMUT will provide furniture for each unit and handle tree clearing at the site. Multiple alternative proposals are welcome, with no preference specified for new versus used buildings or installation types. While no specific budget is mentioned, the project requires a HUB Subcontracting plan submission, though there is no mandatory participation percentage. Construction plans for Phase I have been provided as reference material, and existing parking lots will be utilized. The university will consider all building options and configurations, with contractors responsible for providing complete specifications and designs based on their preferred methods.
