About this file
The document is a comprehensive project manual for the Orange County Courthouse Elevator Modernization Project (Y20-821), prepared by Lerch Bates, Inc. in Tampa, Florida. The project involves the modernization of 19 of 20 elevators located in the Orange County Courthouse Complex, specifically Elevators 1-14, 16-19, and 24, with Elevator 15 being excluded due to recent upgrades. The modernization is an emergency bid scheduled for sealed offer submission by 4:00 pm EST on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, with an estimated project cost of $13,000,000. The project requires comprehensive elevator system upgrades, including replacing major and minor components, refurbishing existing components, and ensuring full code compliance across all applicable regulations.
The project will be constructed under a lump sum contract, with work primarily performed inside the existing building during normal business hours, Monday through Friday. Contractors must coordinate closely with the Owner to minimize disruptions to courthouse operations, with specific requirements for noise, material transportation, and work phasing. The modernization includes detailed specifications for electrical systems, machine room equipment, hoistway components, car equipment, communication systems, and identification protocols. Bidders are required to submit responses electronically via the OpenGov e-Procurement Platform, with technical support available and a specific timeline for submitting questions (deadline: Monday, July 8, 2024 at 5:00 pm EST). The project emphasizes maintaining existing building functionality, preserving fire resistance ratings, and ensuring comprehensive code compliance throughout the elevator modernization process.
