About this file
This is a specification document for aluminum signage requirements. The document provides detailed specifications and dimensional drawings for two types of signs: door number signs and directional signs.
Door number signs must measure 8 inches wide by 6 inches tall and display 4-inch tall, 2.5-inch wide black reflective letters or numbers on a white reflective aluminum background. Each sign requires four corner holes for mounting and must be positioned at the top right side of the door when viewed from outside. If this location is not visible from the road, the sign location must be verified with the VA Contracting Officer Representative (COR). Directional signs must measure 17 inches wide by 11 inches tall and display 4-inch tall text with a black arrow pointing upward on a white reflective aluminum background. Both sign types must use aluminum construction with reflective materials for visibility.
