About this file

This is an Asbestos Inspection Report for Building #710 at MCB Camp Lejeune, dated January 19, 2024. The well house, built in 1984, was inspected for asbestos-containing materials (ACM) on 4/10/2007. The inspection found multiple non-friable materials tested, including interior and exterior caulking, miscellaneous sealant, concrete surfacing material, and concrete expansion joint material at various locations around the building. Although these materials were sampled, no asbestos-containing materials were ultimately identified in the database.

The report provides specific guidance for handling potential asbestos risks, emphasizing that ACM only presents a health hazard when fibers are airborne and inhaled. Key recommendations include avoiding disturbance of materials, not sanding or grinding potentially suspect materials, and reporting any damage or changes in material condition to the Camp Lejeune Asbestos Program Manager, who can be reached at (910) 451-5837. The program will periodically inspect the building to evaluate any changes in material condition and maintain a survey copy for reference.
