About this file

This is a bid bond template issued by the City of St. Petersburg, Florida, for use in conjunction with the procurement of chemical supplies, specifically 50% sodium hydroxide (caustic soda) for delivery to three Water Resource Facilities. The bid bond serves as a guarantee that a bidder who submits an offer will enter into a written contract with the City if awarded and will furnish the required performance bond within ten consecutive calendar days after written notice of award. The procurement involves supplying and delivering sodium hydroxide on an as-needed basis to COSME Water Treatment Plant (6,550-gallon storage capacity), Oberly Pump Station (1,050-gallon storage capacity), and Washington Terrace Pump Station (1,050-gallon storage capacity). Bulk deliveries to COSME WTP are anticipated at approximately 13 dry tons per order with estimated annual usage of 50 dry tons, while mini-bulk deliveries to the two pump stations are expected at approximately 5 tons per delivery with combined estimated annual usage of 50 tons.

The bid bond requires submission of a certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond in the amount of five percent of the total bid value as a guarantee of good faith. If the Principal fails to enter into a written contract and provide a performance bond equal to one hundred percent of the bid amount within the specified timeframe, the surety agrees to pay the bid bond amount to the City as liquidated damages. The bond must be executed by an Attorney-in-Fact of the surety with proper authorization documentation attached, and the Principal must attest to the bond either by corporate seal or through two witness signatures.
