About this file
This is a project plans document for a road resurfacing and rehabilitation project located on Burro Creek Road in Mohave County, Arizona, approximately 71 miles southwest of Kingman. The 1.3-mile project begins at the bridge over Burro Creek and ends at a cattle guard near the intersection with US Highway 93, traversing rolling terrain with elevations ranging from approximately 1,885 to 2,255 feet. The primary objective is to improve access to the Burro Creek Campground facilities while reducing maintenance costs, erosion, and sediment control issues.
The scope of work encompasses pavement rehabilitation including 1.3 miles of Full Depth Reclamation (FDR) and Asphalt Concrete Pavement application with fog seals and tack coats; drainage improvements consisting of cross culvert installation, existing headwall reconstruction, ditch grading and reconditioning, berms, bank stabilization, flared end sections, and riprap aprons; earthwork and stabilization activities including embankment benching, slope stabilization, slope scaling, and bridge approach repairs at the eastern abutment; and safety and traffic control items such as regulatory and warning signs, pavement markings, and boulders for access control. Major work items include 1,600 tons of roadway aggregate, 2,000 linear feet of ditch reconditioning, and 1.3 miles of Full Depth Reclamation. The project is structured with a base Schedule A for primary roadway rehabilitation and an Option X addressing bridge sedimentation repair, bridge approach undercutting, and boulder placement.
