About this file
The document is a Performance Bond template for Volusia County, Florida, designed to provide financial protection for a county contract. The bond serves as a guarantee that the contractor will fulfill all contractual obligations, including performing work according to the contract's terms, paying all required expenses and damages, and providing guarantees for work, services, and materials for the specified contract period. While the specific project details are not fully completed in this sample form, the bond is structured to cover potential defaults by ensuring the surety (insurance company) will either reimburse the county for losses, complete the project with a qualified contractor, or obtain new contractors to finish the project if the original contractor fails to meet contractual requirements.
The performance bond includes provisions for comprehensive financial protection, covering direct and indirect damages, attorney's fees, and professional services incurred by the county. The bond explicitly acknowledges and incorporates provisions for consequential, delay, and liquidated damages from the original contract. It provides the County of Volusia with a legal instrument to mitigate financial risks associated with potential contractor non-performance, with the surety obligated to remedy defaults promptly upon the county's written demand. The document requires attachments such as a Power of Attorney and includes spaces for A.M. Best and NAIC insurance rating numbers, indicating the bond's compliance with standard financial and legal requirements for government contract guarantees.
