About this file
This file contains employee benefits renewal proposals and rate documents for Gloucester County Public Schools covering multiple insurance products effective October 1, 2024. The document includes renewal notifications and benefit proposals from EyeMed Vision Care, United Concordia Dental, The Standard Insurance Company (Long Term Disability, Self-Funded Short Term Disability, Accident Insurance, Hospital Indemnity Insurance, and Group Critical Illness Insurance), and Anthem HealthKeepers medical and pharmacy administration services. The vision plan renews automatically with no changes required, while dental coverage renews for a two-year period from October 1, 2024 through September 30, 2026. Long Term Disability proposals include two voluntary plan options with different benefit levels and participation requirements. Short Term Disability is offered as a self-funded arrangement with claim management provided by The Standard. Accident, Hospital Indemnity, and Critical Illness insurance products are presented with multiple plan design options at varying benefit and cost levels.
Vision rates remain unchanged across all coverage tiers, with employee-only coverage at $6.02 monthly and family coverage at $17.69 monthly, guaranteed for 48 months. Dental renewal rates increase modestly, with employee-only coverage rising from $43.99 to $45.31 in one tier and from $24.76 to $25.50 in another tier. Long Term Disability Plan 1 costs $592 monthly with 77 members, while Plan 2 costs $1,486 monthly with 63 members, both guaranteed for three years. Short Term Disability charges $2.25 per member monthly ($882 total for 392 eligible lives) with a three-year rate guarantee. Supplemental insurance products (Accident, Hospital Indemnity, and Critical Illness) are voluntary with employee post-tax contributions, featuring 27-month rate guarantees and no employer contribution required. Medical and pharmacy administration costs total negative $157.65 PCPM for the 2025-2026 period due to pharmacy rebate offsets, with stop loss insurance available at $271.51 PCPM for specific coverage with 125% aggregate reimbursement. The school board assumes 858 eligible lives for most voluntary supplemental products and 587 subscribers with 1,195 members for medical coverage.
