Also requires both experience and a degree or knowledge in a specialized field – for example, engineering, medical, or one of the sciences. Knowledge of a second language is helpful for some positions. Experience in WEB design and computer graphics is also helpful, due to the growing use of online technical documentation.
Technician/Inspector (Level 2) Education Level: High School or equivalent Experience Level 2: 5+ years Specialized Experience: This employee may be required to have Industry/NASA Certifications.
Duties: Requires experience in installing, maintaining, testing and troubleshooting of electrical or electronic wiring, switches, cables or equipment. If supporting inspection or auditing roles, must be able to inspect or audit for quality and/or technical compliance. Disciplines that may map into this SLC include electronics, mechanical, computer, lab, machinist, mechanics and aerospace workers.
There is an education/experience offset such that three (3) years of specialized experience is considered to equal one (1) year of education. Thus, someone with twelve (12) years of specialized experience would be considered equivalent to someone with a BA/BS degree.
