3.4 The design and execution of work items within the work package are the Contractor’s responsibility. Work items and Contract Guidance Drawings provided as part of the work package do not fully describe all work required to meet regulatory requirements. However, all work performed by the Contractor and Subcontractor, regardless of tier, shall comply with regulatory requirements, and the cost shall be borne by the Contractor/Subcontractor. Only the costs of ABS ship surveys/inspections will be borne by the Government. However, the scheduling of ABS surveys/inspections remains the Contractor’s responsibility.
3.5 Weigh each item removed from and installed on the ship. 3.6 Unless otherwise stated in the individual work items, prepare and coat all new steel, all existing steel surfaces identified to be cleaned and painted, and any paint system disturbed while accomplishing work items, in accordance with reference 2.2. Finish coat colors shall match those of the surrounding, unmodified area. In addition, all power tools used to prepare internal spaces for painting, such as staterooms, the bow thruster space, engine room, stern thruster rooms and Generator Rooms, shall be fitted with dust collecting equipment to keep air bourne contaminants to a minimum. This does not relieve the Contractor from using protective coverings on equipment in those spaces.
3.7 At no time will the ship be required to moor at any dock which has a water depth of less than that required to provide a minimum clearance of two (2) foot under the lowest underwater hull projection during the entire period for which the ship is at the Contractor’s facility.
3.8 Ship’s force will maintain a minimal presence during
accomplishment of work to these specifications. Their availability to operate ship’s equipment will be limited. Unless otherwise specified, provide a minimum of one working day prior notice for any equipment operations.
3.9 Several items require the modification or installation of various piping systems. All piping systems, unless otherwise specified within these specifications shall be installed in accordance with references 2.6 and coated in accordance with reference 2.10.

3.11 All new equipment and furnishings purchased by the Contractor for installation on the vessel shall be provided with factory supplied technical manuals, or data sheets, complete with parts listings. Faxed copies of this information is not acceptable. This documentation shall be turned over to the COTR after installation is completed.
3.12 The Contractor shall schedule and participate in a one- day sea trial near the end of the work performance period to witness testing of all repaired or newly installed equipment and machinery. The sea-trial is expected to take ten (10) hours, departing from the contractor’s facility, with contractor personell be dropped off by small boat. The contractor is to provide the COR a list of personnel attending the sea trial at least 48 hours in advance.
3.13 The contractor shall assume that the ship’s force will be living on board during the first 10 days and last 10 days of the availability.
During this period, no systems that would impact hotel services on board should be disrupted.
3.14 Within seven (7) days of contract award the contractor shall purchase all long lead time materials and provide a copy of the oder/invoice and estimated delivery date to the COR.
3.15 During the last three weeks of the contract period, the contractor shall develop a requirements tractability matrix (Punchlist) of all outstanding items from the contract and have daily meetings to go through all remaining items. 4.0 NOTES
4.2 The vessel’s drain lines from the staterooms and galley (grey water system) do not have a separate holding tank. All drain lines go to the sewage holding tank.
3.0 STATEMENT OF WORK REQUIRED
3.1 Furnish the following ship services that commence from the date of the ship's arrival at the Contractor’s facility until the date of redelivery including shifting the vessel, sea and dock trials and dry-docking. Provide, connect and disconnect cables, lines, hoses, valve fittings, gangways, etc. required to provide services as described herein. Material used in providing the services described herein shall be of good material condition and at a minimum shall be free of tears, cracks, or leaks. Make all connections and provide all services within two hours after the ship arrives at the facility. The services are to be disconnected only when necessary to shift the ship or upon satisfactory completion of all authorized items of the contract. When the ship is shifted, drydocked, or refloated, the services are to be restored for normal use within one hour after completion of the shifting, drydocking, or refloating operation.
3.1.1 Electric Power: Electric Power requirements are 480 VAC, 3 PH, 60 HZ, 800 amps total service through two (2) 400 amp electrical shore power cables. Shore power cables shall be provided by the Contractor and must fit the ship’s receptacles. Ship’s receptacles are Joy Manufacturing Company part number X8999-39.
Estimated average hotel load will be 400 kw. Cables shall be run so as not to create tripping or fire hazards.
3.1.2 Air: Provide 125 psi dry, filtered, compressed air at 100 cfm, connected to the ship’s service air line on the Main Deck. Air shall be available 24 hours/day during the entire yard period.
3.1.3 Cooling Water: There is not a Main Deck connection in the auxiliary salt water system for a shore connection. Water can be provided by connecting a fire hose from the pier to a ball valve located in the aux. salt water system piping on the upper level of the Generator Room, stbd. side aft near the #1 AC Plant. This configuration will provide cooling for the air conditioning and reefer plants. Provide water a rate of 100 gpm at 60 psig utilizing a pressure regulator located on the pier.
3.1.4 Sanitary Water: the ship uses potable water for sanitary
03 NOV 2022
10021-2 flushing.

Provide a shut-off valve at the deck connection to prevent pressurizing the ship's firemain except when needed.
3.1.6.2 Provide and maintain an emergency source of fire-
fighting water capable of providing 500 gallons-per-minute at 100 pounds-per-square-inch-gage to the ship's weather deck within five minutes of loss fire-fighting water pressure at the ship's fire main. The emergency source shall be completely independent of the source used to provide water to the fire main system.

If the ship is to be discharging to a frak tank and not directly into a sewer system, the ship is to have it’s own dedicated frak tank that is not shared with another ship.
3.1.8 Provide camels or fender system to prevent the ship's sides from chafing against the wharf or pier while the ship is moored at the Contractor's facility. When moving the ship with tugs, ensure that adequate fenders are used to prevent chafing of the ship's hull against the tug. All damage to the ship's hull structure and coating systems which occurs due to lack of adequate fenders shall be repaired by the Contractor. No other ship or barge shall be moored alongside the ship.

d. The gangway shall be properly trimmed at all times.
e. When a fixed tread accommodation ladder is used and the angle is low enough to require employees to walk on the edge of the
03 NOV 2022
10021-4 treads, cleated duck boards shall be laid over and secured to the ladder.
f. Supporting bridles shall be kept clear to permit unobstructed passage while using the gangway.
g. When the upper end of the means of access rests on or is flush with the top of the bulwark, substantial steps properly secured and equipped with at least one substantial handrail 84 cm (33 in) in height shall be provided between the top of the bulwark and the deck.
h. Obstructions shall not be laid on or across the gangway.
j. The means of access shall be adequately illuminated for its full length.
k. Unless the construction on the vessel makes it impossible, the means of access shall be located so that cargo lifts do not pass over it. In any event, loads shall not be passed over the means of access while personnel are on it.
l. Safety nets shall be installed and secured to the ship and to the pier edge so as to provide coverage for the areas between the ship and pier for a distance of 1.8 m (6 ft) on either side.
3.1.10 Toilet Facilities

03 NOV 2022
10021-5
Remove all debris and pump the bilges dry.
b. The Contractor shall plan and perform the work in a manner to minimize both the quantity of bilge water produced and the hazardous constituents of the water. Direct discharge to tanks or trucks ashore or similar methods must be used in lieu of dumping to the bilge.
c. Contractor personnel shall physically enter bilge areas, including rose boxes, at the start and completion of the availability and physically remove and dispose of contractor and ship’s force generated garbage and debris.
3.1.12 Remove and properly dispose of Waste Oil and Oily Waste from the
