About this file

This document is an Administrative Directive from the Illinois Department of Corrections that establishes supervision levels and written instructions for staff regarding the supervision of offenders released on parole, mandatory supervised release, electronic monitoring, electronic detention, or global positioning system (GPS) monitoring.

The directive outlines four levels of supervision - Level 1H (maximum), Level 1 (high medium), Level 2 (medium), and Level 3 (minimum) - and the specific requirements for each level, including initial face-to-face contacts, monthly contacts, drug testing, and notification of any changes in residence or legal status. The directive also specifies that certain high-risk offenders, such as those on electronic monitoring, must remain at the maximum supervision level unless an exemption is granted by the Chief of Parole. The supervision requirements and level changes are detailed in the document.
