BID SCHEDULE

PART 1: GENERAL

1.01 BASIS OF BIDS

A. Lump Sum and Unit Price Schedule

This Contract will be awarded based on the total cost of the bid schedule below. The base project consists of the dredging, placement in the designated DMMA, dewatering, and removal, transportation and disposal of approximately 182,972 cubic yards of sediment from the Eau Gallie Muck Removal Project Area 1A. The project includes bid alternates to dredge additional volumes within Pay Section Z to deeper elevations. The Alternate Bid 1 will be dredged to contour or the -16.5 feet NAVD88, which equates to approximately 42,007 CY of additional muck. Alternate Bid 2 will dredge Pay Section Z to contour or an elevation of -18 feet NAVD88 equating to approximately 34,940 CY of additional muck to be dredged from Pay Section Z. Finally, Alternate Bid 3 will dredge Pay Section Z to -21 feet NAVD88, which equates to approximately 31, 835 CY of additional muck. The project will be awarded based on the lowest responsive total bid amount including all alternate pay sections.

1.02 SCOPE

A. The project consists of the hydraulic dredging, dewatering, and beneficial reuse/disposal of approximately 182,972 CY of muck sediment from the Eau Gallie Muck Removal Project Area 1A. Due to the variability experienced in the actual muck volume in each pay section, it is expected that line-item amounts in the CONTRACTOR's Schedule of Values may be adjusted as needed per Section 01- 20-00 Measurement and Payment for each pay section, however the total project cost of the contract shall not be increased unless authorized by COUNTY through a future change order.

B. If the lowest total bid exceeds the available construction funds, the COUNTY may elect, at their sole discretion, to remove certain Pay Sections to bring the total costs within the available funds. Pay Section Z has been broken out in the bid pricing form to facilitate removal of certain sections if needed. If certain sections are removed from the project in order to meet the anticipated project budget, there will be no adjustments to the fixed and unit-based prices for the remaining sections and bid items.

C. If the actual quantity of the unit-priced dredge quantities and final transportation and disposal items vary by more than 25 percent above or below the estimated quantity, an equitable adjustment in the contract price shall be made upon demand of either party. The equitable adjustment shall be based upon any increase or decrease in costs due solely to the variation above 125 percent or below 75 percent of the estimated quantity. If the quantity variation is such as to cause an increase in the time necessary for completion, CONTRACTOR may request, in writing with the demand, an extension of time consistent with associated quantity variation. This variation in estimated quantity (VEQ) clause does not apply to all bid items, it only

BID NO. B-6-25-24 00 41 00-2 Brevard County applies to bid items which specifically indicate eligibility under this clause in Section 01 20 00.

D. This bid shall be for a complete project and bid item prices shall include all components necessary for successful completion of the work as designed and specified.

E. This Contract is solicited with bid items. Any bid price for items indicated above which are considered unbalanced in the opinion of the COUNTY may be rejected.

An unbalanced bid is one in which the cost for one or more bid items is considered significantly low and one or more bid items is considered significantly high.
