About this file

This document is an Implementation Plan Template for the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice (SCDJJ) Tablet Distribution project, detailing a comprehensive five-phase approach to introducing tablet technology across juvenile facilities. The plan outlines a systematic rollout beginning with pre-implementation preparation, involving stakeholder identification, infrastructure assessment, and device procurement, with an initial pilot test at the Birchwood Regional Resource Center (BRRC). The implementation strategy includes gradual expansion to four additional facilities: CEC, UEC, MEC, and JDC, with a phased approach focusing on careful planning, training, infrastructure setup, and ongoing evaluation.

The implementation plan emphasizes robust security protocols, comprehensive staff and youth training, and continuous performance monitoring. Key considerations include device selection based on security, durability, and functionality requirements, establishing communication channels, configuring tablets with appropriate software and security measures, and creating mechanisms for ongoing feedback and optimization. The project appears to be primarily funded internally, with a focus on enhancing educational, rehabilitative, and recreational opportunities for youth through technology, while maintaining strict oversight and maintaining the ability to adjust strategies based on pilot program outcomes and stakeholder input.
