About this file
This is a specifications document for a roof replacement project at the Coyote Ranger District Office, a federal facility located on the Santa Fe National Forest in Rio Arriba County, New Mexico.
The project scope includes removal and replacement of approximately 8,000 square feet of interlocking standing seam metal roofing; removal and replacement of an estimated 30% of damaged sub-roof decking with 15/32" standard roofing OSB; installation of ice and water shields with 24" minimum width along roof eaves; installation of approximately 700 linear feet of 5-inch K-Style aluminum gutters with 14 downspouts; and installation of 8 skylights measuring 21 inches by 85 inches. All quantities are estimates for bidding purposes, with actual measurements to be agreed upon by the contractor and Contracting Officer. The project location provides available electricity but no water for construction use. The contractor must furnish all materials, labor, equipment, tools, supervision, and associated work. All work must be completed within 120 days from issuance of the Notice to Proceed. The building will remain in use during construction, requiring the contractor to implement safety measures including running a magnetic sweeper to remove metal debris and protecting employees and the public. Submittals must include manufacturer's literature and shop drawings for standing metal seam roofing, lumber, gutters, downspouts, underlayment, and skylight windows. The specifications reference compliance with International Building Code, OSHA standards, ASTM, ANSI, and various federal standards. The contract is subject to Executive Order 13423 requirements for use of recovered and recyclable materials where possible. Upon project completion, all demolition materials must be removed from government land and disposed of in accordance with state and county standards, with site restoration and final cleaning at no additional cost to the government.
