RINCON FIRE STATION ELECTRICAL PRE-BID ADDENDUM #1
December 5, 2022
Change # - Relevant Drawing/Specification #’s: Change Description
1) E001: The following symbols, for wall and ceiling mounted coaxial outlets, are being provided to reflect new content in this addendum.
COAXIAL OUTLET (FEMALE) - WALL, CEILING MTD. +18” AFF UON
2) ES101: Provide and install a 20A GFI duplex receptacle at the gate operator, wired to the line side of the 30A gate operator disconnect. Receptacle shall be installed in a weatherproof box, attached to the same strut as the disconnect, and employ a CEC compliant weatherproof “while in use” cover. See sheet keynote 15 on original version of ES101 for details on strut and disconnect installation.
3) E102F & Detail 6 / E501: Instead of installing each L15-30R receptacle for RACK1 and RACK2 in a 4”x4” box, Contractor shall install each receptacle in a duplex electrical outlet box, Chatsworth Products Inc (CPI) 13698-001 or approved equal. Box shall be installed at the rear of RACK1 and RACK2, near bottom of rack, as shown in manufacturer’s installation instructions. Rather than routing above the ceiling, the 120V/30A circuits for each receptacle shall route from Panel B via 3/4" EMT which transitions to SCH40 PVC to run below grade and stub up at rear of each rack. Conduit shall stub up at mid-point between edge of rack post and outlet box so as not to interfere with rack installation. SCH40 PVC shall then transition to FMC to route to outlet box.
4) E112F & E102W: Instead of installing fiber optic cable (FOC) between the MTTB at the FS and TTB at the Vehicle Wash Building and coiling for future use, the fiber shall be terminated and tested as described below:
At RACK1 in Elec/Telecomm room of FS, all 12 strands of FOC shall be fusion spliced to a pigtailed splice cassette with six (6) female LC duplex connectors, Corning CCH-CS12-E4- P00QE or approved equal. Cassette shall be installed within a rackmount closet connector housing, Corning CCH-01U or approved equal. CCH-01U shall be installed in RACK1, 4RU below CAT6 patch panels.
At TTB in Vehicle Wash Building, all 12 strands of FOC shall be fusion spliced to a pigtailed splice cassette with six (6) female LC duplex connectors, Corning CCH-CS12-E4- P00QE or approved equal. Cassette shall then be installed within a wall mounted closet connector housing, Corning SCH-01C or approved equal. SCH-01C shall be mounted in the upper right corner of the TTB. Provide and install d-rings, cable clips, etc, as needed to route and manage FOC on TTB.
Attachment 3 #9TSC0105 Rincon Fire Station Replacement-General Contractor

6) E112F (see attached sketch E112F for outdoor outlet locations): In all six bedrooms in the Barracks there is a single voice/data outlet with four (4) CAT6 cables terminating into a single gang four port wall plate. In addition to the four (4) CAT6 the Contractor shall provide and install RG-6 coaxial cable at each of these outlets and pull back to RACK1 with CAT6.
At RACK1, RG-6 shall be coiled in a 20’ loop for future use by CAL FIRE. In each bedroom terminate and connect RG-6 via a feedthrough QuickPort® F-connector, Leviton 41084-FWF or approved equal. To support the installation of this F-connector the four port wall plates in the bedrooms shall be changed to single gang six port wall plates. The F-connectors shall be inserted into the fifth port and a blank installed in the sixth port.
Provide and install two (2) outdoor voice/data outlets, each containing two (2) CAT6 and one
(1) RG-6 with feedthrough QuickPort® F-connector, described above. CAT6 connectors and RG-6 F-connector shall be installed in a four port water-resistant faceplate, Panduit CFPWR4CIG or approved equal. Install a blank in the fourth port. Locations for voice/data outlets are shown in attached sketch E112F.
7) E112F & E604: In the same 2” conduit as the FOC, Contractor shall provide and install 6C/18AWG, stranded, foil-shielded, tinned copper cable rated for direct burial, Belden 5304F1 or approved equal, from the MTTB in the FS to the TTB in the Vehicle Wash Building. Coil cable in a 30’ loop at MTTB and TTB for future termination by CAL FIRE.
8) E112F: Provide and install, at rear of RACK1, a horizontal rackmount ground busbar kit, CPI TS1057246 or approved equal, consisting of 1/4" thick by 2” high copper busbar, isolation pads/insulators, and mounting hardware. A separate insulated #6 AWG, copper, 19 strand grounding conductor, connected to the ground bus bar in Panel B, shall be installed and terminated on the rackmount ground busbar via a copper compression two-hole long barrel connector, Ilsco CLWD-6-14-1 or approved equal.
