About this file

This document is a comprehensive set of technical drawings for the Warren H. Brock Reservoir Gate Replacement project, detailing electrical, cathodic protection, and structural modifications across multiple sheets. The drawings specify the replacement of 11 existing cast iron gates with 316L stainless steel slide gates across multiple structures, including detailed installation plans for gate replacements at Inlet/Outlet Structures No. 1 and No. 2, Transition/Trashrack Gate Structure, and Pipe Inlet Structure.

The technical drawings comprehensively cover electrical infrastructure, including single-line diagrams, cable and conduit schedules, site conduit plans, and grounding specifications. The project involves replacing existing equipment such as engine generators, transforming electrical systems, installing new cathodic protection systems, and modifying communication infrastructure. Key technical elements include vertical and horizontal impressed current anode installations, junction box placements, cable routing, and specific modifications to gate structures, with precise specifications for conduit types, cable sizes, and installation methodologies across the reservoir's various structural components.

PLAN - IMPRESSED CURRENT CATHODIC PROTECTION SYSTEM

1. Anodes are to be installed horizontally in slotted PVC impressed current anode conduit with slotted side pointed away from concrete wall or floor towards stoplog guides and gates.

1.1. Anodes shall be installed a minimum of 20 feet from gates or thimbles.

2. Impressed current anode conduit shall be anchored to concrete wall/floor at each end and twice in the middle with conduit straps and concrete anchors to prevent loss during high flow conditions.

4. Gate and thimble structure connections shall be made in accordance with connection details in sheet

(-60247).

5. Junction box details listed in specification Section 26 42 00.

6. Label front of junction box in accordance with diagram in sheet (-60248).

7. Replace damaged continuity bond cables on stoplog guides.

8. Anode and structure cable conduits shall be anchored to concrete every 5 feet for vertical segments and 10 feet for horizontal segments using conduit straps and concrete anchors or pre-existing Unistrut.

9. CPVC anode conduit shall be anchored to concrete every 2.5 feet to prevent loss during high flow conditions.

10. Cable identification for all cables terminating in junction boxes and bond boxes in accordance with detail in sheet (-60246).

11. Cathodic protection system components are not to scale for visualization.
