Defense Fuel Support Point San Pedro Restoration O&M Actions Summary Groundwater Monitoring & Sampling

Guidance Field Sub-Project Tasks Document(s) Subcontractors Frequency Forms Deliverables

GWM&S

Schedule vacuum truck subcontractor and order sample containers. Gauge product wells and plan for product recovery event. Use vacuum truck to evacuate floating product from selected wells and product accumulated in the SCA remediation system (waste transported off site). Gauge ~246 monitoring wells. Low-flow purge and sample up to 119 wells (wells w/measurable product are not sampled). Use vacuum truck to evacuate purge water from drums and transfer to the SCA remediation system for treatment. Tabulate gauging and analytical data, prepare 3 equipotential maps and 3 contaminant distribution maps, update 10 time-series concentration graphs, evaluate data and prepare report. Update historical analytical data tables.

Revised Groundwater Monitoring and Sampling Plan (SGI, 2018).

Vacuum truck to recover product from wells with >0.25 foot floating product and "pump down" SCA treatment system (extract accumulated product).

Analytical laboratory.

Semiannual (newly installed wells are sampled quarterly for 1 year following installation)

Pre-Event Product Gauging Sheet, Instrument Calibration Log, Field Gauging Sheets (South Control/Admin/Tank Farm), Groundwater Sample Field Data Sheet

2 Semiannual Reports (Spring and Fall) due Feb 15 and Aug 15). Any revisions to the Groundwater Monitoring and Sampling Plan would be included in this task.

GWM&S - Data Exchange

Groundwater monitoring and sampling events are scheduled to coincide, to the extent practical, with groundwater monitoring and sampling events conducted at the Philips Refinery located east of the DFSP San Pedro, Site, across Gaffey Street.

Revised Groundwater Monitoring and Sampling Plan (SGI, 2018).

Philips Refinery consultant is TriHydro Corporation Semiannual. Tabulated guaging data and anallytical resutls

DFSP San Pedro and the Philips Refinery exchange data to allow for the preparaton of regional groundwater maps. Data from select Philips wells (those located along the western edge of the refinery) are included on equipotential and groundwater chemistry maps prepared for the Admin and South Control Areas of DFSP San Pedro.

Guidance Field Sub-Project Tasks Document(s) Subcontractors Frequency Forms Deliverables

Monthly Recovery of Floating Product

Schedule vacuum truck subcontractor. Gauge ~26 wells. Use vacuum truck to recover floating product from wells with >0.25 foot floating product and record volumes. Use absorbent socks in wells with <0.25 foot floating product. Record pre-and post-deployment weight to calculate volume of floating product recovered via absorbent socks. Gauge wells after product recovery.

not applicable Vacuum truck Monthly

Product Recovery Field Data Sheets (TFA Vac Truck, TFA Socks, SCA Vac Truck, and SCA socks).

Volume of recovered product calculated and reported in the annual WDR report.
