About this file

This is a Certificate of Test Results for environmental sampling and analysis conducted on soil samples collected from Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan. The testing was performed for MCB CAMP SMEDLEY D. BUTLER, FE Environmental Affairs Branch under Contract No. M67400-23-D-0005. The soil sample (ID: CS-5132-MC01) was collected on May 12, 2025, from Gate 1 Contractor Road at Camp Hansen and received for analysis on May 15, 2025.

The analysis results are presented in three test categories: leaching tests, content tests for hazardous substances, and specific contaminant measurements. The leaching test results show that all Class 1 designated hazardous substances (volatile organic compounds) and Class 2 designated hazardous substances (heavy metals and cyanides) were detected at levels below the quantitation limits, with all results marked as "ND" (not detected). Content tests for Class 2 hazardous substances similarly show most substances below detection limits, with the exception of fluorine compounds measured at 60 mg/kg(dry) against a standard value of 4000 mg/kg or less, and lead compounds measured at 6 mg/kg(dry) against a standard value of 150 mg/kg or less. Class 3 designated hazardous substances (agricultural chemicals and PCBs) were all reported as not detected. All analytical methods utilized Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS) and Environmental Ministerial Notifications. The certified measurer, Eisaku Karimata, signed the certificate on June 4, 2025.
