Work for this Project includes tree cutting, brush cutting, piling or lop and scatter (depending on unit prescription and optional mastication) in portions of T37.5S R12W section 33, T38S R11W sections 19, 30, and 31, T38S R12W sections 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 16, 17, 20 , 21, 23, 24, 28, 32, 33, T38S R13W sections 13, 14, 24, T39S R11W sections 6, 7, 8, and T39S R12W section 5.
2. WORK AREAS, ROAD ACCESS AND MAINTENANCE.
There are five (5) priority Work Units containing approximately 532 acres in the total Project area further specified in the maps (Exhibit D). Work Unit projects and priority are shown in Table 1 with the Road Brushing Segment project shown in Table 2. Quantities listed are approximate. Contractor will be paid only for completed Work that has been inspected, certified as acceptable and in accordance with the unit rates specified in Exhibit C (Compensation). If the amounts specified in Exhibit C are greater than the approximate budgeted $425,000.00, treatment work will proceed according to Work Unit priority indicated in Table 1 until funds are fully expended.
Work areas are not identified by flagging or paint in the field. Virtual boundaries using georeferenced maps in Exhibit D and Unit Subdivisions descriptions in Exhibit E will provide sufficient information for Contractor to meet the specifications of this Contract. Agency Contract Administrator may assist Contractor locating subdivision corners and species identification as needed.
When Contractor is required to use State or Forest Service roads for access to and within Work Units and Road Brushing Segment, Contractor must take measures to prevent damage to the road and must perform any minor maintenance necessary to protect the road from surface drainage. This Work will be limited to removing small rocks and/or soil that has moved on to the road. This type of maintenance will be accomplished by hand using a shovel. However, ODF or USFS will accept responsibility for any general maintenance where tractor work or machine grading may be required. In case of damage by others which impairs or prevents access by Contractor, ODF may do one or more of the following per ODF's discretion:
a. arrange for repair work if feasible,
b. arrange with Contractor for an alternate Work area at the same pay rate, or
c. cancel that portion of the Work affected by lack of access.
