Purpose of Course:

Upon completion of this course, the trainee will have acquired sufficient knowledge and skills of aircraft painting including, types of equipment, equipment maintenance, spray painting techniques, types of paints, techniques and methods of inspection, repair and refinishing of painted surfaces, and application of aircraft markings to perform aircraft paint touch up. These Journeyman level skills will be performed at the organizational and intermediate level working environments, afloat and ashore.

Prerequisites:

1. Completion of Aircraft Corrosion Control course (Course CIN N-701-0013) or Aircraft Corrosion course (Course CIN C-600-3183) is a prerequisite for the Aircraft Paint/Finish Course (Course CIN C-600- 3182) and the Aircraft Paint Touch Up and Markings Course (Course CIN N-701-0014).

2. Trainees are required to have a current respirator physical/fit test completed prior to convening of classes.

Must provide personal respirator with proof of a current fit test.

3. Trainees must be medically cleared to conduct paint operations and provide proof per

COMNAVAIRLANTINST 4750.5/COMNAVAIRPACINST 4750.4.

4. Trainees must bring safety shoes and coveralls suitable for working with paints and sealants.

5. Trainees must be currently assigned or prospectively assigned to a corrosion control billet.
