About this file

This document is a Supplemental Quality Assurance Provision (SQAP) for Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Energy, specifically focused on aviation fuels and naval distillate fuel requirements. The document provides detailed technical specifications for multiple fuel types including JP5, Jet A1, JP8, and Naval Distillate (F-76), with specific requirements for product composition, testing, additives, and traceability. Key requirements include conforming to military specifications (MIL-DTL standards), strict testing protocols for filtration time and workmanship, and detailed guidelines for additive injection and synthetic blend components.

The SQAP covers extensive quality control measures such as mandatory sampling procedures, certificate of analysis requirements, and traceability documentation for each fuel batch. Special location-specific requirements are outlined, including sulfur content limits for Rocky Mountain/West regions, total acid number variations for Alaska, and unique additive concentration specifications for certain international locations like La Spezia, Italy. The document is dated for implementation in January and March 2025, with precise technical specifications designed to ensure fuel quality and performance across various military and naval applications.
