The procurement concerns the removal of existing fire alarm systems and installation of a new Notifier Fire Alarm System at the Central and South buildings located at 1318 KS Highway 264, Larned, Kansas. The project encompasses complete removal of existing fire alarm infrastructure, installation of the new Notifier system, repair or replacement of equipment as necessary to ensure full operational capability, and daily cleanup of debris throughout the installation period. A mandatory pre-bid conference was scheduled for January 20, 2026, at 10:30 AM at the facility site, with attendance required for bid eligibility. Written questions must be submitted by February 3, 2026, at end of business, with bids due on February 3, 2026, at 2:00 PM CST. The contract period extends from the date of award through February 28, 2027, with a project delivery completion date of February 8, 2026.

Bidders must submit pricing as lump sum costs for system removal and installation on the provided cost sheet, with all prices remaining firm for the contract period. Award will be made to the lowest responsible bidder conforming to specifications and contract terms. The contractor must possess a robust safety program with current workers' compensation insurance documentation for all employees and submit a current Kansas Department of Revenue Tax Clearance Certificate at the time of bidding. No subcontracting is permitted; all work must be performed directly by the awarded qualified bidder. Bids must include an Immigration Reform and Control certification form, a Boycott of Israel compliance form, and a Sexual Harassment policy form. Bidders may claim Kansas Bidder Preference categories, including Disabled Veteran Owned Business or Certified Business preferences if supported by appropriate documentation. The project will be tax-exempt with a Project Tax Exemption Certificate issued at award. The State of Kansas reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive informalities, modify criteria as needed, and terminate the contract for convenience with 30 days' notice or for cause if delivery or quality standards are not met.
