RFI # Question Response
D Does the USFS have a preferred vendor list for subcontractors? No, there is no preferred vendor list for subcontractors.
E The solicitation states "Notice to Offerors: funds are not presently available for this effort, no award will be made under this solicitation until funds are available." Are funds currently available for the Phase 1 portion of work?
This statement is now removed from the Request for Proposal. Funds are now currently available for this solicitation.
F Is it the Government's intention for the offeror to send Past Performance Questionnaires for all contracts and subcontracts completed within the last 3 years? Is there a limit to the number of projects?
Offerors should only list contracts similar in nature and complexity to the requirement of this solicitation. There is no requirement to have questionnaires submitted for all work listed, but it is important to have a method to assess past performance.
G How are we expected to hold our pricing for one year after the bid date for alternative options? It is the Offeror's responsibility to determine pricing for all items listed in the schedule.

The framing for much of the perimeter soffits are cantilevered elements of the metal building and may be provided with that package. Other soffit areas may be framed with light gauge metal framing. However, what is and is not within the metal building scope of work shall be determined by the General

Yes. This is acceptable.
82 When we are putting our bid package together for phase two, option two, what exclusions do we need to have? If there is no concrete slab, we obviously can’t install cabinets, hollow frames and doors, interior walls, etc. We will need this info relatively soon in order to put a good and accurate bid package together.
The option items will only go in sequence. Option Item 2 will not go before
Option Item 1. For clarity; all concrete below the finish floor level is included in Option Item 1 (including piers and footings).
83 On Sheet A9.0 Finish Schedule shows WT-1 : WALL TILE, FIELD - 12X24 to be CUT TO 6X24. Cutting these by the manufacturer may be an option but at an additional cost, and cutting these in the field could result in a substandard installation. Could a stock 6x24 tile be specified for installation to avoid the manufacturer/filed cutting or install the specified 12x24 tiles without cutting?
Architect assumes that work could happen in field to satisfactory design intent. Please bid drawings as described, and this will be figured out during submittal process. A stock 6x24 tile is an option, we just don't know what that would be at this time.
84 Is the sidewalk on sheet C1.3A supposed to a part of phase 1? This would make it very difficult for the construction of phase 2 due to all of the bollards that would be placed in the sidewalk.
Sidewalk west of building is to be bid as part of option 2 (see CV-1 Phasing
Plan)

90 Item # 35 is restated here for additional clarity. Will "approved equal" products and manufacturers be accepted? Change all specification sections that refer to specific manufacturers to include language that confirms that acceptable manufacturers are not limited to the listed manufacturers. Equivalent products and manufacturers that meet all of the performance requirements in the specifications are acceptable.
(Except for section 125900, which requires specific manufacturers for
Dispatch functions). Reference section I-2 clause FAR 52.236-5 Material and
Workmanship. 94 The sound requirements for the generator appear to be above the industry standards. Should we anticipate the specified or the industry standards?
Refer to section 263213. Generator sound enclosure should be rated for residential area.
