About this file

This is Addendum No. 4, dated June 20, 2022, issued by Andrews, Hammock & Powell, Inc. for the Dougherty County Board of Education in Albany, Georgia, modifying the original specifications for the Morningside Elementary School HVAC & Plumbing Upgrades project dated May 20, 2022. The addendum revises Section 230900 (Instrumentation and Control for HVAC) and establishes specific requirements for thermostat and temperature sensor installation heights, locking covers for common areas, and monitoring protocols. All bidders must acknowledge receipt of this addendum on the Bid Price Form to avoid disqualification.

The specification changes require newly installed thermostats and sensors in new locations to be mounted 4 feet 6 inches above finished floor unless otherwise noted, while existing installations may remain at current heights. Thermostats in classrooms shall not have locking metal covers, but those in common spaces (corridors, cafeterias, media centers) must be behind locking covers unless otherwise specified. Additional requirements include installation of two space temperature sensors in the kitchen's walk-in cooler and freezer with alarm activation if temperature rises above setpoint for more than five minutes, and DDC system monitoring of data rooms and other areas served by standalone ductless split systems and PTACs with alarm signals sent to the owner if temperatures exceed established setpoints. All thermostat setpoints, classroom deadbands, and cover/cage types must be verified with Dougherty County Board of Education Facilities.
