About this file

This document is an Addendum 1 for a Request for Proposal (RFP-8-26-02) issued by Brevard County Purchasing Services for Vehicle Fleet Maintenance and Repair Services, dated August 14, 2025. The addendum provides clarifications to prospective bidders regarding the upcoming procurement, with the proposal opening scheduled for Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at 10:00 am. The current contract is set to expire on 10/31/2025, with no plans for extension, and the procurement seeks a maintenance and repair service provider for the county's vehicle fleet.

The addendum addresses key operational details, specifically noting the preferred maintenance approach and vehicle lifecycle expectations. Brevard County prefers onsite maintenance, with exceptions for warranty work and major repairs like engine replacements. The service life expectations for vehicles are defined as 12 years or 500,000 miles for large transit buses, 5 years or 250,000 miles for medium paratransit buses, and 3 years or 150,000 miles for light-duty support vehicles. Bidders are encouraged to propose alternative solutions, though the county maintains a preference for primary onsite service delivery.

Addendum 1

TO ALL PROSPECTIVE BIDDERS

This is an Addendum to and shall be considered as part of the original proposal package for the above-mentioned bid. Please acknowledge receipt of Addendum 1 in the space provided on the Price Sheet.

CLARIFICATION TO QUESTIONS ASKED RECEIVED:

1. Question: In the RFP, you’ve encouraged alternative options and solutions. We maintain a network of national, OEM, and local repair facilities to provide maintenance and repair for all your transit vehicles. Would you consider such a solution where the work is performed off-site?

Response: We prefer to have maintenance done onsite, except for going to the OEM for warranty work or major repairs such as engine replacements.

2. Question: Current intended contractual start date and any plans to extend the current contract to allow for a proper start-up date?

Response: The current contract will expire on 10/31/2025, and there are no plans to extend it.

3. Question: What is the intended contractual Life Cycle of the vehicles?

Response: The service life of large transit buses is 12 years or 500,000 miles, medium paratransit buses are 5 years or 250,000 miles, and light-duty support vehicles are 3 years or 150,000 miles.

Please note that the proposal opening date and time remain Wednesday, August 27, 2025 @ 10:00 am.

All other terms and conditions remain unchanged.

Sincerely, Mary Bowers Purchasing Manager
